1. Who can join the Indie Author & Illustrator Program?
Independent authors and illustrators writing or illustrating for children or young adults are welcome to participate—whether you’ve self-published a debut book or manage a full catalog of titles.
2. What are the main benefits of participating?
We provide professional visibility and credibility. Your titles can be professionally reviewed, featured on our site, listed in the Children’s Literature Directory, and optionally showcased on MoBoo for global reader discovery.
3. How do I get my book reviewed?
Simply complete the Indie Author Submission Form and send a review copy. Our editors match your book to an experienced reviewer in your genre or target age range.
4. Where will my review appear?
Accepted reviews appear on childrenslit.com, within the CLCD Enterprise Database (used by schools and libraries nationwide), and may be featured in MoBoo recommendations for families.
5. Is there a fee for indie submissions?
Yes. Indie submissions include a modest annual fee, which covers editorial handling, reviewer assignment, and publication of your review across our network. Pricing and timelines are shown on the submission form.
6. Can illustrators participate?
Absolutely. Illustrators may submit portfolios or specific titles for inclusion in our Author/Illustrator Directory. This exposure connects you to teachers, publishers, and event organizers looking for creative talent.
7. How do I get listed in the Author/Illustrator Directory?
You can join the author directory at no cost. Use the link at the top to add your name to our list of 11,500+ authors.
8. Can my book appear on MoBoo?
Yes. Once reviewed and approved, your titles may qualify for inclusion on MoBoo, allowing families worldwide to discover, read, and share your work.
9. How long does the review process take?
Typically 4–5 weeks from receipt of your book. We’ll notify you when your review is published or if additional information is required.
