For a complete list of our database participants, go to www.childrenslit.com, pull down the Database Services menu and select Overview and then click on the CLCD link. We are very excited to announce the addition of more than 13,000 Awards, Honors, Prizes, Starred Reviews, Best Book Lists, etc. as part of CLCD. The Best Books section includes starred reviews from School Library Journal and Publisher's Weekly as well as the Horn Book Fanfare. With very little effort, you can access the Newbery and Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Sibert and many other national and international awards. To further help you with your book selection, all state reading lists are included. At ALA Midwinter, we will be announcing a new alliance with Sirsi to integrate our reviews into Sirsi's iBistro Electronic Library for public, school, and other libraries. A press release is available at www.childrenslit.com. The Children's Literature web site offers teachers, librarians, parents and kids lots of valuable information at no charge. There are more than 600 links to authors and illustrators, hundreds of books reviewed in themed sections, a calendar of events, related sites and more. This January, we have featured a collection of books about the Middle East, authors Chris Demarest, James Howe (The Misfits), Anita Roberts (Safe Teen), and we have assembled reviews of recent books about two American heroes - Martin Luther King, Jr. and Johnny Appleseed. It is all free and available to you at www.childrenslit.com. Click here to go back to the newsletter index.
